You can start the process of becoming a member by opening a checking account, or applying for a loan or credit card, and we'll set up your free membership share automatically. No extra forms or paperwork needed.

Membership is open to all individuals who live, work or worship in Arizona (excluding Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, and Santa Cruz counties), plus their immediate family members and Credit Union West employees.
Both US Citizens and non-US Citizens may apply to join. See "What do I need to become a member?" for details.
To become a member by opening an account, you must:
- Meet the following eligibility requirements
- Live, work or worship in Apache, Cochise, Coconino, Gila, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, Yavapai or Yuma county OR
- You are an employee of the credit union OR
- You are a family member of a current member of Credit Union West.
- Provide the following documentation to verify your identification
- US citizens must provide two forms of identification, one being a government-issued photo ID (passport, drivers license, etc)
- Non-US citizens must provide
- Proof of local residency/address
- SSN or Pseudo Social Security Number/Valid for Work Only Social Security Number with a W-8 BEN IRS form
- One form of identification such as a Matricula Consular Card, Resident Alien Card, and/or a U.S. Visa
- Government-issued passport
US Citizens can open an account online or by visiting a branch location. Non-US Citizens must visit a branch location to open an account.
Member savings accounts at all credit unions are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Funds (NCUSIF), which is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The fund is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. No taxpayer funds are used to support the (NCUA) or the (NCUSIF).
