Donation to Phoenix Children's Hospital
Credit Union West Employees Donate to Phoenix Children's Hospital
Glendale, AZ — Credit Union West employees, in partnership with the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation, donated $7,850.32 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital as part of the credit union’s EmployeesCARE Program. The donation check was presented to the organization by credit union executives on September 16, 2026, at Credit Union West’s corporate office in Glendale. Phoenix Children’s Hospital was chosen as the 2026 Q2 EmployeesCARE donation recipient by staff for their dedication to helping Arizona’s children.
Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country for the past 16 years. The pediatric hospital specializes in neurology and neurosurgery, cancer treatment, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, and behavioral health.
“The CU West CARES Charitable Foundation focuses on four pillars of giving, and one of those four pillars is Health and Human Wellness,” said Karen Roch, President and CEO. “I’m proud that our employees voted to provide such highly ranked children’s hospital with these funds to further the important work they do for Arizona families.”
Phoenix Children's Hospital will use this donation to help fund their annual Ignite Hope Walk on Saturday, December 12, 2026. Ignite Hope is a candlelight walk with a prewalk festival, photos with Santa, kids' activities and games before a heartfelt program celebrating and sending hope to patients in the hospital during the holidays.
This is the second donation from the credit union’s EmployeesCARE Program in 2026. The program is funded solely through employee donations and benefits four local organizations each year. The funds for this donation were generously matched dollar for dollar by contributions from the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation.
