Our commitment to serving military members and their families is a point of pride for all us at Credit Union West.
Our Proud Partnership with Luke Air Force Base
Partnering with Luke Air Force Base
Credit Union West was founded on Luke Air Force Base in 1951, known then as Luke Federal Credit Union, to serve military members and their families. Our first permanent location was established on Luke AFB in 1978 before officially changing our name to Credit Union West in 1999. As we grew, our dedication to military members and their families has never wavered and remains a great source of pride for those working at Credit Union West.
“Being a trusted financial partner for people living and serving on base means so much to everyone at Credit Union West,” said Danielle Green, Vice President of Retail Delivery. “Not only is the work they do [at Luke AFB] so imperative to our country, but there is a huge financial impact on our community as well by having Luke Air Force Base in Glendale.”
Elario Escalante, the manager of our branch location on base said serving the men and women of Luke AFB is truly rewarding for him and his team.
“Our primary objective is to assist our active duty and retired military personnel, as well as their families, in achieving their financial goals,” Escalante said. “Whether it's through providing financial education or offering tailored products, we are dedicated to supporting them every step of the way.”
Our leadership continues their work in fortifying our impact on Luke AFB. In October of 2022, Green became an Honorary Commander in the 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron. This program allows her to work closely with her assigned squadron and Squadron Commander to foster the relationship between Luke AFB and Credit Union West. Green’s Lieutenant Colonel spent a day at Credit Union West learning about our organization and how we support military members in our community.
“When on base, I felt like I was being welcomed into a family,” Green said. “The most meaningful part is getting to connect with people and hear their stories about the places they have been and the inspiring things they have done.”
The relationship between Credit Union West and Luke AFB allows us to be a resource for airmen to turn to when they need a trusted financial partner. Our dedication to military members and their families runs much deeper than our presence on Luke AFB. It plays a role in how we interact with members and the level of service we strive to provide.
