Coronavirus (COVID-19) Readiness

A message from Karen Roch,

President & CEO

With stay-at-home orders lifting across our state, there is an opportunity for our credit union to be proactive in the wellbeing of our community. As you know, in March we made the difficult decision to limit access in our branch lobbies to appointments only. Today, during these extraordinary times, we feel confident that continuing to take these measures is what is right for our members, communities, and employees.

We are striving to limit the spread of Coronavirus by practicing social distancing and adding safety measures based on recommendations from the CDC along with Federal and State guidelines. With over 195 essential employees, we are focused on delivering a high-level of service while also considering the impact our decisions may have on our employees and operations. We have been committed to keeping our branches and lobbies open for member access while requiring that our employees work in rotation.

We’re Always Here for You
Your health, safety, and access to your accounts is a top priority. Should your needs require working with us in person, we ask that you please make an appointment in advance. We are closely monitoring the volume of people allowed in our branches and observing safe social-distancing practices. We have two available options to schedule an appointment in a branch. The best option is to schedule your appointment in advance by visiting cuwest.org and click on the appointment link. An additional option is to visit the branch and call the posted phone number. A Team Member will respond to your call and If an appointment is available, we will gladly accommodate your request as soon as possible.

We encourage you to continue to take advantage of multiple tools, including our mobile app, mobile deposit, mobile & online banking, member call center, telephone banking, and ATMs. For added convenience, you now have the option to deposit checks and cash using an ATM at all Credit Union West Branch locations (with the exception of our Osborn Branch location).

Stay safe and please remember during these incredibly challenging times, we’re always here for you.

Please be aware that there are many scammers taking advantage of the fears surrounding the coronavirus. Just know, if we ever reach out to you, we won't ask for personal or financial information or access codes through email, text, or unsolicited calls.

Phishing scams are an attempt to acquire personal information, sometimes to compromise online banking accounts, by posing as a legitimate company via email or phone. Here are a few important reminders:
  • Do not reply to the email
  • Do not click on any of the links embedded in the email
  • Forward the email to info@cuwest.org
  • After forwarding the email to Credit Union West for review, please delete it
  • Be sure to monitor your account and call us if you notice any unusual activity
  • You can also monitor your credit report in Online and Mobile banking with our free SavvyMoney program
If you believe a phone call could be phishing, hang up and, if you are concerned about your account, contact us toll-free at 800-621-0287.

  • View transactions

Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate these challenging times for all of us.

The health, safety, and well-being of our employees, members, and communities remain our top priority. Due to growing public health concern - and in an effort to be proactive - we’ve decided to temporarily close all of our branch lobbies, except by appointment only. We are encouraging our members to take advantage of our drive-thrus, cash depository boxes, and ATMs. Please see our complete updated list of available services by branch location.

We believe this is the right step to take to help prevent the spread of the virus and support the health and well-being of our employees, members, and the communities we serve.
We understand this is a time of uncertainty and that members may be thinking about making large withdrawals out of precaution. We want to assure our members that we will ensure the continuity of critical services during this difficult time. We encourage you to continue to use our self-service online banking, which provides 24/7 account access. We also recommend continuing to use your debit card and ATMs, which are also available 24/7.

Federally insured credit unions like ours offer a safe place for members to save money. All deposits at federally insured credit unions are protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, with deposits insured up to at least $250,000 per individual depositor. Additional information on NCUA share insurance coverage for consumers is available at MyCreditUnion.gov.
