As concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue, Credit Union West remains diligent in evaluating the latest information available through national and local resources. Over the past few months the effects of COVID-19 have continued to affect our team members and members in many ways.

We were founded with a commitment to support our members in all types of economic environments, and we know how important it is to work together, especially during these challenging times.

So far, we’ve been able to serve members at all of our branches and have only experienced intermittent temporary closures. However, we believe that we need to take additional steps to ensure our members are receiving the level of service and support they’ve come to expect from Credit Union West. That’s why we’re proactively hiring new team members to support different areas throughout the credit union, such as our Call Center and Branches. We’re also committed to providing enhanced training for our existing employees, so that they are better equipped to support our members.

In order to complete this valuable training, we’re announcing the temporary closure of our Arrowhead, Luke and Sun City West Branches through August 19th. Making the decision to temporarily close branches is difficult, but we feel it is the best decision in order to provide the necessary training and support for our team members, so that they can continue to provide service excellence across all channels. (We’ll still be accepting deposits at all three locations through our Branch Depository Boxes and ATMs.)

For any of our members who call these branches home, we encourage you to continue to contact our Call Center, convenient Mobile and Online Banking services, or visit any of our five nearby branch locations, including our brand new Westgate Branch (now open and located just across the 101 from the Westgate Entertainment District) or Avondale, Cactus and Surprise Branch locations.

We appreciate your patience, support and understanding as we continue serving all of your financial needs throughout this pandemic. If you are experiencing a hardship, please let us know as soon as possible, or visit our website for the latest financial assistance programs and information.

Locations & Service Options

Our branch lobbies are open by appointment only.
For the safety of our team members and members, we require that your nose and mouth be covered at all times. For children between the ages of 2 to 5, face coverings are encouraged. (This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition.) If you have been exposed to someone with known exposure to COVID-19 or you have a cough or other symptoms, we’d like to see you when you are feeling better.
From time to time we may need to temporarily close a branch location or lobby. ATM services will be available to make cash and check deposits.

Please be aware that there are many scammers taking advantage of the fears surrounding the coronavirus. Just know, if we ever reach out to you, we won't ask for personal or financial information or access codes through email, text, or unsolicited calls.

Phishing scams are an attempt to acquire personal information, sometimes to compromise online banking accounts, by posing as a legitimate company via email or phone. Here are a few important reminders:
  • Do not reply to the email
  • Do not click on any of the links embedded in the email
  • Forward the email to 
  • After forwarding the email to Credit Union West for review, please delete it
  • Be sure to monitor your account and call us if you notice any unusual activity
  • You can also monitor your credit report in Online and Mobile banking with our free SavvyMoney program

The health, safety, and well-being of our employees, members, and communities remain our top priority. Due to growing public health concern - and in an effort to be proactive - we’ve decided to temporarily close all of our branch lobbies, except by appointment only. We are encouraging our members to take advantage of our drive-thrus, cash depository boxes, and ATMs.

We believe this is the right step to take to help prevent the spread of the virus and support the health and well-being of our employees, members, and the communities we serve.
We understand this is a time of uncertainty and that members may be thinking about making large withdrawals out of precaution. We want to assure our members that we will ensure the continuity of critical services during this difficult time. We encourage you to continue to use our self-service online banking, which provides 24/7 account access. We also recommend continuing to use your debit card and ATMs, which are also available 24/7.

Federally insured credit unions like ours offer a safe place for members to save money. All deposits at federally insured credit unions are protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, with deposits insured up to at least $250,000 per individual depositor. ¹ The first two skip-a-payment processing fees will be waived in a rolling 12-month period, thereafter a skip-a-payment fee will be processed per the Credit Union’s Fee Schedule, for each additional request. You may now request two back to back skip a payments. If you have more than one qualifying loan you may request to skip-a-payment on each loan. Processing fee will be returned to anyone not eligible to participate in this offer. In order to skip your payment, all loans and accounts must be current and in good standing at the time we receive your request, and your loan must have been opened for at least 30 days and one full-payment processed. The deferral of loan payments pursuant to this agreement will automatically extend the loan maturity date by a corresponding period of time. Deferral of payments will reduce the portion of future payments applied to principal resulting in a larger final payment, or negative amortization. Interest will continue to accrue on your loan as it normally does. The number of Skip-A-Payments in a rolling 12-month period is limited to a maximum established by the credit union and may be subject to change. Certain restrictions apply and not all loans are eligible for this program. In some instances, it may be required that the member authorize having a credit bureau pulled for review.
