Can I add funds to my Certificate once it has been opened?

The only Certificate type that allows additional deposits are Youth Certificates. All other Certificate types do not allow additional deposits once the Certificate has been opened. When it is up for renewal at the end of the term, you may then add additional funds.

Do you offer IRA Certificates?

Yes, we also offer IRA Certificates to save for retirement. IRA Certificates typically earn a higher return than regular Certificates.

Promotional Certificates - Available only with new money. New money is defined as funds not currently on deposit with the credit union. $500 minimum deposit required. The total combined balance of all promotional certificates under a single member cannot exceed $250,000. Promotional rate cannot be applied to existing certificates. Offer good for the initial term only. Upon maturity, all promotional certificates will automatically renew closest to but not exceeding the current term of the certificate, unless Credit Union West is notified within the 7-day grace period of the maturity date. Promotional certificates will not renew to a different promotional term or rate. For example, a 9-month promotional certificate of deposit will roll into a 6-month certificate of deposit upon maturity. Promotion subject to change or end without notice.
