Monthly payments will be sent to eligible families by the IRS via direct deposit, paper check, or debit card through December 2021. There is nothing you need to do to receive these advanced monthly payments if you qualify.

Generally, nothing. If you are eligible to receive advance Child Tax Credit payments based on your 2020 or 2019 tax return, you should receive those payments automatically without needing to take any additional action.
However, if you have not filed your 2020 or 2019 tax return, the IRS recommends that you file your tax returns electronically and provide your account information to begin receiving payments by direct deposit.
The most convenient way to deposit a paper check is through Remote Deposit in the Mobile App, or in person at a Branch Depository Drop Box, Credit Union West Branch ATM.
